Weekend Recap

Hi friends!!

Welp, things have been crazy busy around here lately! This weekend included lots of basketball (close to all of my teams lost!), a going away party, sending a gift to the bachelorette party that I missed (ahh, sorry S!) and plenty of cleaning of my house, and shopping for B's new place!

It is official (well, as of 5PM today), B and his brother, J, are townhome owners! The last few weeks have been a complete rollercoaster over this house. But, I am happy to say that things have worked out (don't they always?) and we will begin the move-in/painting/organizing/decorating process tomorrow!

Will I be living there, you ask? No, not yet :o) But I do LOVE to help them out! We already chose paint colors, some furniture, and they even let me choose most (all) of the accessoies for the bathrooms and kitchen! I will leave the painting and heavy lifting to the guys, and spend countless hours moving the little things, organizing it, and making random trips to the store for more decorating ideas/items! This has been such an overwhelmingly exciting time in their lives, and I am so proud of them!

Here are a few pics for a sneek peak - I will update next week once I have some "after" pics!

Where is Spring?!

Ever since we got back from our trip, I have been awe-struck by how crappy and cold the weather has been! Having grown up in NJ (woot, woot!!), I am used to cold weather, but it doesn't mean I have to like it! DC just cannot seem to get out of this damp/cold/dreary day-to-day at the moment, and I don't like it!

What to do to cure myself, you ask?! A wonderful happy hour full of basketball and friends, of course! Yes, we're headed out for a little "Hooray, it's Thursday, and we need SOME reason to celebrate!" tonight at one of our favorite spots. Why not? When traffic is bad, and the weather is worse, I think that is just what the doctor (me) ordered!

In other news, please click on the link in the right top corner and read about MckMama's baby boy, Stellan and pray for the tough and uncertain times that her family is going through right now!

And, I would not feel right about this post if I did not take a few moments to go over the recent happenings on Idol this week! Basically, if a guy does not win this year (I have this theory that the whole thing is rigged, and they have been able to stagger the gender that wins from year-to-year, until NOW), I will be fuming mad! They guys are just SO talented this year, and they really deserve it!

Oh Adam, be still my heart .. you pulled that hair back out of your face, and oh my! you are gorgeous! He is the perfect balance of Pete Wentz and Edward Cullen - YUM. His performance last night was unreal, and is definitely worth a watch if you missed it!

And how stinkin' cute is Kris Allen?! He's married (boo, just kidding!), so he's off limits ladies, but he's some great eye candy, and has a great set of pipes to boot! I looooved his song choice this week, and the whole guitar thing had a Jason Mraz feel to it for me. He is below, for your viewing pleasure!

And last, but certainly not least, Matt Giraud; a perfect combo of Justin Timberlake and Michael Buble, if you ask me. I will definitely be purchasing this boys CD when it comes out. He did a great job last night as well, and the judges are calling him one of the "front runners" now.

I haven't yet mentioned Danny Gokey or Scott McIntyre - I still love them both, but didn't think their performances were quite as noteworthy as the other three; but seriously, how adorable are they? I just love all of the different qualities that the guys have this year; I may just have to start texting in some votes!!

My prediction for tonight is that either Meghan or Michael Sarver will get the boot, both of which could be well deserved in my book. Meghan just isn't cutting it for me, and Michael had a bad week this week! But neither of them will keep me from wanting tickets to this summer's Idols Live Tour!

Well kids, tomorrow is Friday - woohoo!!!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday!

A little late this week .. but definitely well deserved for such an exciting week in my book. I just adore March Madness, and you can bet that I will be deeply involved with it over the next few weeks; after all, I did enter three different pools this year?!

The Prom

Yes, you read that correctly .. Saturday night, B and I went to a prom! No, not a high school prom, not really your average prom either; a few of our friends got together and threw a "Goodwill 80's Prom Party" at their house on Saturday night. It was absolutely fabulous, and the costumes were to die for!

Since none of my college friends were ever with me at my real prom, it was super fun to re-create it, although this time, the adult beverages were flowing, and everyone didn't stand around awkwardly waiting for the first brave soul to step out on the dance floor.

We decided that a "best dressed" competition was in order, since everyone did such a fantastic job .. so here's a little photo sneak of who ranked up among this years' "best dressed post-JMU 80s prom-goers!"

B can really rock the Kevin Bacon look, don't you think?!

A few of the ladies at prom - smashing, just smashing.

Definitely a few of my favorite looks of the night - a cross between Jerry Seinfeld and Zack Morris?! That may be more 90s, but who cares :o)

And of course, the classic prom/senior portrait pose .. an absolute classic.

Man, our friends sure do have a great sense of humor. The party was a smashing success, and I'm thinking maybe an annual thing?

Extra Long Holiday?!

My sincere apologies for being a lazy blogger post-vacation! I was getting my life back in order (and by that, of course I mean, catching up on TV, and spending a few too many hours out gallivanting with friends over the weekend).

Where do I begin?!

Ahh, yes .. Key West. Ladies (& gents!), Key West was like a mini heaven on earth! If you haven't been there before, I definitely recommend scheduling a trip down there in your near future! We had SO much fun! The weather was perfect, we had plenty of QT together, plenty of sun, good food and better drinks! It was Spring Break for many-a-southern-schools (i.e. U of Georgia, Florida and South Carolina), so B and I just pretended that we were back in college, ha! Here are a few pics of our little getaway ..

Guess Who's Back?!

I am back, well rested, and mildly depressed :o) B and I may or may not be considering a move to Key West, haha.

My apologies for not posting some updates sooner, but I will get to it tomorrow, once I have my work/home life up to speed!

Hope you all had a wonderful week thus far! Here's a teaser pic for ya ...

Be Still, My Broken Heart

OK, how many of you have been watching the Bachelor in complete disbelief this week?! Don't lie.

I had read the spoilers, so I knew that Jason was going to turn out to be a complete idiot, and go for Molly after he had already PROPOSED to Melissa?! Seriously, what has happened to ABC? There were rumors that ABC was "in talks" with Jason all season long, and that this was always supposed to be the final result. Welp, I am mildly disgusted, and don't think I'll be a devoted viewer of the Bachelor/Bachelorette series anymore; although, having Gillian as the new Bachelorette does sound intriguing. After all, the only successful (love-wise) season was Trista's Bachelorette (whom, might I add, looks super cute as a preggo, and I loved seeing their little update Monday night!) Maybe they should just always leave the decision up to the women, cause men aren't really sure what they want anyways, right?! Haha, jk. Maybe.

In other news, I am thrilled to be getting into the most exciting part of the season on Idol. I already have a few favorites (of course), which include Danny Gokey (OK, everyone loves him, I know), Scott McIntyre and Adam Lambert.

Now, as much as I do dig the whole Edward Cullen look that Adam has going on, I think he would do a bit more for me if he cut that extra long bang, and stopped wearing eye makeup (OK, I'll like him either way).

It sure does seem like the guys are favored this year, but, since I am a believer of the "rigging" that Fox (and Simon Cowell) do behind the scenes, I am still convinced that it will be a girl Idol this season. Oh Simon, how I love you and the middle-of-the-week-lull entertainment that you provide for me .. sigh.

Also - am I the only one that is semi-interested in checking out the new season on Dancing With The Stars this year? I must say, I think this cast will be the best yet, so I might just be adding another reality show to my weekly line-up, you know, in between all of those real life things that I actually have to do. Gosh, how do I keep up?!

Oh! One last thing, if you haven't already seen it, head over and check out Ashley's martini-swap! It looks like it's going to be a super fun way to "get to know each other!" I have a few of those Lolita glasses, and they are precious!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

Wordless Wednesday!

I'm sorry I have been so out of the loop, I have been busy daydreaming about waking up here!

Seriously though, more to come shortly.
