Our Home Renovation: Guest Room & Another Day of Thirty-One Giveaways!

Thank you all again for hosting, promoting and participating in our week's worth of Thirty-One Spring 2012 product giveaways. We have all had so much fun announcing what each new day brings, so without further ado, let me introduce you to my next host: Nina!

Nina and I became fast friends recently when we found each other on Twitter. She so graciously offered to be our next giveaway host, and I am so excited to help announce it! Head on over to Nina's blog to enter for a chance to win one of these ....

Don't wait long, the giveaway is only open this week! Thanks again, Nina! You rock my socks!!

Many of you may have gotten a glimpse of our guest room in last week's DIY post. Truth be told, I allowed our guest room to sit on the back burner for quite some time when we first moved in. But, I quickly made it a priority when I realized that I actually had a bedroom for guests to sleep in when they came to visit!

The previous owners had used this room as their your son's bedroom, so it was simple, and the walls were bright blue!

I have no problem with little boys rooms, but since we don't have kids yet, I knew this would be the perfect room for our guests.

We started this room the same way as the others: ripping out flooring and painting the walls. It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do for a room!

Although the room is exactly the way I want it to be yet, we have comes leaps and bounds from where we started with it, and we can officially have overnight guests stay in comfort at our house now!

I still plan on filling some of the space where the walls are blank, but I felt it is good enough condition to show here on the blog :)

I was able to incorporate all of my old bedding and furniture from my post-college-but-still-single days, and my parents were generous enough to donate that gorgeous oriental rug, and I love the way the colors all compliment each other!

I've added a mixture of items from Target, Hobby Lobby, threw in some Pinterest-inspired projects and voila!

Now, who's coming to visit?!

I think this is already so wonderful! It looks very relaxing and perfect for a guest to visit. Have you have your first over-night visitor yet?
